L.K.Advani to be the next President of India | Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi Proposed Advani’s name for presidential candidature
Narendra Modi and LK Advani |
L.K.Advani had vehemently resisted against Narendra Modi becoming PM, despite being a BJP favorite and had created a rift within the party. Now it turns out Narendra Modi himself have proposed 89-year-old Advani’s name for presidential candidature (in a meeting in Gujarat's Somnath; Amit Shah and Keshubhai Patel were also present at the meeting). LK Advani started his political career as a volunteer in RSS and was the Minister of Home Affairs in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004 and also the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. This is a characteristic of a true leader which Modi is exhibiting. Reportedly PM also said that this will be his ‘gurudakshina’ to Advani. The Presidential election will be held in July 2017 and after the massive UP, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa win, BJP is in a position to nominate a president of its choice. Pranab Mukherjee from Congress is in the president’s seat since July 2012 and his term will end on July 25th, 2017. Hopefully, we will see the good in the coming years as these 2 senior BJP leaders are expected to take the country forward.
